Morning Routines for the Christian Woman

I don’t know about you, but in our experience, the way you start your day is crucial to how the rest of your day ends up going. Recently in popular media, the concept of having a “morning routine” has become quite popular. They’re full of ideas on how to best start every day as a woman, but what might a morning routine look like for a Christian woman?

There are four things that we recommend every Christian woman includes in their morning routine. We’ll go through each one and give some tips on how to add this into your next morning routine.

The first thing is prayer. Since our strength for the day comes from the Lord, getting up in the morning and talking to Him is essential in preparing yourself for the day ahead. Prayer is a space in which you can be yourself with God. You can tell Him your honest thoughts, feelings, and desires while hearing back from Him and just spending time in His presence. We recommend you start with prayer as prayer prepares your heart and mind for what God has for you in the day.

The second thing that can be very helpful to include in your morning routine is journaling. Let’s be honest; life can be very overwhelming, and it can really help to get your thoughts and emotions out on a page. You can even pair this with prayer and pray through your journal entry, letting God know what you’re feeling and thinking at the time. It can also help to intentionally write down things that you are grateful for, thanking God for them as you go. This can allow you to get into a grateful spirit and mindset for the rest of your day.

The third thing is spending some time in God’s Word. Psalm 1:1-3 says, “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.”

Don’t let the word ‘man’ fool you! This applies to women just the same. The Word of God brings growth and flourishing into your life, and it is where you can encounter God every single morning, learning more about who He is and what He is calling you to. Getting into Scripture brings transformation and renewal every day of your life.
